Pick a base, ride for a week. Each of these destinations is a self-contained touring paradise with enough road within an hour's ride to keep you busy.
Kerry
Kerry is Ireland's touring capital. Two peninsulas — Iveragh and Dingle — carry more world-class motorcycle road per kilometre than anywhere else on the island. Base yourself in Killarney or Dingle and don't come home for a week.
Connemara
West Galway. The Twelve Bens mountain range, Ireland's only fjord, hundreds of miles of empty single-track lanes and a proper Gaeltacht identity. Clifden makes the ideal base.
Donegal
The wildest county on the island. Sea cliffs at Slieve League that dwarf Moher, the Inishowen Peninsula, the Gaeltacht of Gaoth Dobhair. Fewer tourists, better weather than they'll admit.
Antrim Coast
Northern Ireland's Atlantic edge — the smoothest tarmac in the country, the Giant's Causeway UNESCO site, and a whiskey distillery every twenty miles.
Wicklow
Dublin's mountain playground. The Military Road, Sally Gap, Glendalough — a full day's mountain riding you can start from the capital's outskirts.
West Cork
Three peninsulas — Mizen, Sheep's Head and Beara — plus the twelve hairpins of Healy Pass. Slower than Kerry, quieter than Connemara, and arguably the best food.
